New Fire Hall – Open House
On Wednesday, August 10th from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, the Allouez Township Volunteer Fire Department welcomes everyone to attend an open house at the new fire hall (104 Second Street – Mohawk).

Effective February 28, 2022, Trudi Haataja the Allouez Township Clerk will be resigning.
The Allouez Township Board of Trustees needs to appoint a replacement who would serve until
November of 2022. The clerk’s position will be on the ballot this election cycle and a clerk will be
elected to a two (2) year term. The clerk’s position will then be on the ballot again in 2024 as it
normally would for a four (4) year term. The appointed person would be able to run for the elected
position.
If there are questions, please contact a member of the township board. Any interested individuals
should submit a letter of interest to the township board by February 10th, 2022.

Township Clerk’s Statutory Duties
• Maintains custody of all township records
• Maintains general ledger
• Prepares warrants for township checks
• Records and maintains township meeting minutes
• Keeps the township book of oaths
• Responsible for special meeting notices
• Publishes board meeting minutes (if taxable value is $82 million in 2016, annually indexed,
or a charter township)
• Keeps voter registration file and conducts elections
• Keeps township ordinance book
• Prepares financial statements
• Delivers tax certificates to supervisor and county clerk by September 30
• Must appoint a deputy
• Must post a surety bond
Each elected official, as a local legislator, should be able to:
• Demonstrate knowledge about township law (general law or charter) government
responsibilities, functions and powers
• Identify the major functions of each branch of government—local, state and federal—along
with their relationship to one another

The January board meeting will be held at the Township Office at 6pm.

Waste Management has advised that due to the weather on Monday December 6th. All Routes this week have been pushed back a day.
Wednesdays pickup will be Thursday and Fridays pickup will be Saturday.
Due to the Thanksgiving Holiday on Thursday, friday’s garbage pickup will be on Saturday 11/27. There is not change to Wednesdays pickup.

Music in the park will be held the 2nd and 4th Tuesday in July and August from 6-8pm. Concessions will be available.
There will be a special meeting on Thursday July, 1st at 5:00 p.m to discuss the hiring off a part-time public works employee and to discuss the 206 Fire Protection Fund banking transfer.
Allouez Township is currently accepting applications for a part-time public works employee. Hours could be up to 40 a week during the summer. Some hours are available year round.
